North Bergen Man Drove Drunk When He Struck Pedestrian: Prosecutors

A 40-year-old North Bergen man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Oct. 3, after they drove while intoxicated and struck a pedestrian last month, authorities said.

On Friday, Sept. 8 at 3:30 a.m., Steven Inoa, was driving a Honda Pilot at Bergenline Avenue and 92nd Street when it struck a 65-year-old woman, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The woman was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, Suarez said.

Inoa was charged with assault by auto while driving while intoxicated and causing serious bodily injury. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance.
